Irrigation on the farm has demanded the construction of a large reservoir at Sutton Gault. The sand and gravel which arises is being removed to reveal the clay which is being used to line the reservoir. The reservoir, once complete, will be able to store 212 million gallons. Since the construction commenced planning permission has been obtained to use the reservoir for drinking water. This water is likely to be used by our own water company, Pretoria Water Company (PWC).
